Indian conglomerate ITC Ltd launched ITCMAARS (Meta Market for Advanced Agricultural Rural Services), a full stack agritech app, to strengthen its agribusiness vertical.
The app will provide farmers with customised and hyperlocal crop advisories powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Farmers will have access to high-quality inputs, market connections, and ancillary services such as pre-approved loans through this app. The app will also bring advanced technologies to farmers’ doorsteps, such as real-time soil testing, quality assaying, and precision farming. ITCMAARS has been launched in seven Indian states and will soon be expanded to other states. It is currently used by over 40K farmers, who are organised into more than 200 farmer producer organisations (FPOs).
