YouTube will send a notification to users if their comment is abusive

Share via:

YouTube says it will notify users whose abusive comments have been removed for breaking the platform’s rules. If a user continues to post abusive comments despite receiving the notification, the service will ban them from posting any more comments for 24 hours.

The company stated that it tested the feature prior to its release today and discovered that notifications and timeouts were materially successful. Currently, hateful comment detection is only available for English-language comments, but the streaming service plans to expand to include more languages in the future. It’s worth noting that the pre-posting warning is available in both English and Spanish.
