The UAE is one step closer to flying parcel deliveries after UPS was granted permission to begin testing services.
Using vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to deliver parcels across the UAE could lead to speedy sending and receiving of small cargo, as well as significant environmental benefits. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, approved the design and location of air taxi stations in the city last month. The UAE Regulations Lab at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet has issued a licence for an electric cargo aircraft as part of its efforts to promote sustainable and eco-friendly transportation and enhance the sustainability of the air cargo industry in the UAE.
