New Delhi, 16th August, 2023: Digicides, a forefront SaaS-based agri-tech startup, is thrilled to share the exciting announcement of its strategic expansion into the Asia Pacific Region, commencing with its entry into the Philippines.

Launched in 2017, Digicides is a business-to-farmer engagement platform that aims to streamline farmer communication and information dissemination through its unique suite of products. In India, it is already working with 150+ organizations such as Bayer, BASF, Godrej, Coromandel and more and has built a repository of 2.7 crore verified farmers, the largest till date.

With its advent into Asia-Pacific which is a home to more than 450 million smallholder farmers, Digicides aims to bring innovative technology to revolutionize the farming industry, empower farmers and facilitate their connections between agri-product companies and potential customers, in the region. This will thereby help to enhance crop productivity, reduce costs and promote environmental sustainability.

Today, Asia-Pacific generates roughly 30% of global agrifoodtech financing activity and it is estimated that the region will account for 60% of global consumption by 2030. This calls for an overall industry development led by technological advancements and more investments.

Dipanjan Dean Dutta, Co-Founder & CEO of Digicides, expressed his enthusiasm about this expansion, stating, “The Asia Pacific region shares immense similarities with the Indian market with sizable agricultural communities. Given our success in our home country, we meticulously planned this expansion, which is expected to penetrate 50% of the agri market in the Philippines followed by other countries. At Digicides, our vision is to empower farmers and ease the agri business process which will result in a boost in the farming industry.”

Drawing from its successful track record in India, Digicides aims to introduce its tried and tested agri-tools, such as DigiTrack, which is a lead generation tool in which a virtual sim-less number is provided to the on-ground agents or field sales officers to capture the data. This will benefit an estimated 8.5 million farmers in South East Asia. This expansion has been facilitated by partnerships with Syngenta Philippines and BSF Philippines.

Digicides’ long-term vision involves establishing a strong presence in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia as part of its growth strategy. By cementing their presence in these countries, Digicides seeks to not only enhance its global reach but also contribute to the advancement of sustainable and technology-driven agricultural practices across the entire Southeast Asian region. This multifaceted endeavor underscores Digicides’ commitment to innovation, collaboration, and making a lasting positive impact on the agricultural landscape.
