Google is bringing generative AI to Maps: Here’s what it will do

Share via:

Google Maps is testing a new AI-powered feature that offers personalised recommendations based on user needs. Using generative AI, users can ask Maps for places with specific vibes, such as vintage vibes in Egypt. The AI models analyze information about nearby businesses, photos, ratings, and reviews to show organized results with photo carousels and review summaries. Users can refine their search with follow-up questions, allowing for dynamic exploration. This experimental feature is currently available to select Local Guides in the US.
