Ashutosh Gupta, Country Manager for India & APAC Head of Online Sales for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, has announced his decision to depart from the company by the end of April. Gupta, who has been instrumental in shaping LinkedIn’s presence in India over the past decade, expressed his intent to take a career break before embarking on new ventures.

Gupta’s tenure at LinkedIn spans an impressive 11 years, during which he has left an indelible mark on the company’s trajectory. His leadership in India witnessed several pivotal milestones, including the introduction of the Hindi language feature aimed at enhancing member experiences, and the exponential growth of LinkedIn’s user base in the country, surpassing the 100 million mark.

Acknowledging Gupta’s invaluable contributions, a LinkedIn spokesperson remarked, “We thank Ashutosh for his decade of dedicated service and wish him all the best for the future. As we continue to grow and scale our business in this strategic market, our APAC and India leadership teams will lean in as we finalize the appointment of a new country manager for India.”

Gupta’s professional journey boasts two decades of experience in the technology sector, with notable stints at renowned companies such as Google, Cognizant, and Infosys. His association with LinkedIn commenced in 2013 when he assumed the responsibility of leading LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions (LMS) business in India. Subsequently, Gupta transitioned to Singapore in 2016 to spearhead the establishment of LMS’ Online Sales Organisation (OSO) for the Asia Pacific and China regions.

Notably, Gupta assumed the pivotal role of country manager for India on September 2, 2019, at a juncture when LinkedIn boasted over 630 million members worldwide, with over 57 million users in India. Under his stewardship, LinkedIn’s presence in India has witnessed remarkable growth, with the user base swelling to over 115 million.
