Mastercard is set to replace Paytm as Indian cricket council’s title sponsor

Mastercard is set to take over as the title sponsor of all international and domestic cricket matches organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, replacing Paytm (BCCI).

According to ET, the transfer contracts have been drawn up and will be signed in the first week of August. According to the report, Paytm had asked to withdraw from the deal, and Mastercard was willing to come in at the same price. Inc42 previously reported that Paytm had asked the BCCI to assign its India Home Cricket title rights to credit card giant Mastercard. Paytm was said to have missed the July deadline for requesting reassignment. However, due to their ‘long standing,’ BCCI has agreed to consider its delayed request.
