MapmyIndia offers panoramic street view experience to compete with Google

Listed location tech company MapmyIndia launched a panoramic, three-dimensional experience similar to Google Street View. The Mappls RealView technology, similar to Google’s offering, will allow users to explore India’s cities.

According to the company’s website, MapmyIndia has mapped more than 6.29 million kilometres of road in India and recorded nearly 18 million places. According to the company, Mappls RealView repository contains over 40 Cr geo-tagged panoramas, videos, and panoramas. Mappls RealView, according to a BSE filing by MapmyIndia, covers metropolitan areas and cities such as Greater Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Jaipur, among others. In addition, MapmyIndia claims that Mappls covers approximately 100,000 kilometres of highways connecting these cities and towns.
