Digital healthcare startup Yodawy raised $16 million in Series B co-led by Delivery Hero Ventures, the venture capital arm of leading global food delivery platform Delivery Hero, and Global Ventures, an international, UAE-based, venture capital firm investing across MEA where AAIC Investment and Dallah Albaraka with existing investors Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), C-Ventures, and P1 Ventures also participated.
Yodawy has established a nationwide and technologically advanced fulfilment infrastructure to reach patients across Egypt, as well as a flagship e-prescription gateway. With the participation of seven insurance companies and health management organisations, the e-prescription gateway allows physicians to go paperless. The proceeds will be used to expand Yodawy’s signature Care Program for Chronic Patients, which provides enrolled patients with monthly medication refills and daily deliveries. The company’s operations will continue to be automated. Beyond Egypt, Yodawy will set aside a portion of the proceeds to fund its regional expansion.
