Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer Pegatron is expected to join another Apple supplier Foxconn in producing the latest iPhone 14 models in India.
According to a Bloomberg report, while the plan to shift manufacturing from China to India is not public, Pegatron, a Taiwanese manufacturer, has a factory in Tamil Nadu, India. It began producing iPhone 12 handsets earlier this year and is primarily in charge of assembling Apple’s entry-level models. Apple now intends to shift 5% of global manufacturing demand to India by CY2022.
