Swiggy expands into premium grocery delivery with handpicked partners

Food and grocery delivery major Swiggy launched a second grocery business called Handpicked. The foodtech company is currently conducting a pilot in Bengaluru.

For the time being, it is an invite-only platform that offers premium products that are either imported or made locally. The products listed on Handpicked will only be delivered the next day, as opposed to its regular grocery delivery service Instamart, which takes anywhere from ten to fifty minutes, depending on the city. Handpicked is being launched as the company’s net loss increased 2.2X to INR 3,628.9 Cr in FY22 from INR 1,616.9 Cr in FY21.
