Dubai could soon emerge as a potential global hub for influencer marketing, with India-based Mad Influence set to launch a marketplace platform billed as the first such initiative internationally for both social media influencers and brands to tap for this latest trend in customer reach out.
The company is nearing a $10 million fundraising agreement to propel the platform to become the ‘Amazon’ or ‘Uber’ of influencer marketing in the Middle East and globally. Mad Influence’s marketplace platform will be available later this month.
This platform will be a single window marketplace for social media influencers – both high-end celebrities and rising stars – and companies and brands to connect with each other for influencer marketing activities,” said Gautam Madhavan, founder and CEO of Mad Influence.
Madhavan believes the new initiative will be a game changer for social media influencer marketing globally, as individual influencer marketing firms have previously pitched directly to companies or brands for work to be done with select influencers with whom they have tie-ups.
The new initiative’s concept is similar to e-commerce or ride-hailing platforms in that any influencer can register on the platform to offer their services, and any company or brand can register to strike influencer marketing deals of any kind and proportion – from multi-million mega corporate or event campaigns to tailor-made, micro marketing programmes to reach out to highly selective audience groups in any part of the world.
