Maruti Suzuki India Limited ("Maruti Suzuki"), India's leading passenger automobile manufacturer, today announced its strategic collaboration with five high-growth startups: MiniMines, Easework AI, Sarvam AI, Siftly, and CodeMate AI.
The automotive giant has onboarded these technology-led ventures to co-create custom enterprise solutions aimed at maximizing manufacturing and supply chain efficiency, automating corporate procurement pipelines, and delivering next-generation multilingual customer experiences.
The five selected startups are the official winners of the highly competitive 5th cohort of the Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program (MSIP). The MSIP is run in an exclusive institutional partnership with NSRCEL (Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning), the premier incubation hub for entrepreneurship and startup support at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore).
Driving Industrial Efficiency and Electric Vehicle Sustainability
This collaborative initiative highlights Maruti Suzuki’s operational pivot toward integrating advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning, and clean technology across its massive manufacturing and retail footprint in India. As the Indian automotive landscape quickly transitions toward sustainable mobility, securing local technology solutions for end-of-life component management and corporate automation has become an industry priority.
The onboarding of these five distinct platforms addresses specific, real-world operational challenges. Notably, the integration of specialized battery recycling tech aligns directly with India's national circular economy policies and sustainable EV infrastructure frameworks.
Detailed Breakdown: Partner Startups and Core Business Applications
Rather than deploying generic software, Maruti Suzuki is working closely with each startup to design bespoke corporate applications:
MiniMines (Clean Energy & Battery Recycling): Developing eco-friendly, closed-loop recycling processes for end-of-life Lithium-ion batteries. This solution extracts precious raw materials, supporting the company's long-term sustainable electric vehicle framework.
Easework AI (Agentic Corporate Automation): Implementing end-to-end workflow automation for the procurement of indirect consumables. The solution leverages agentic AI to streamline vendor communications and B2B purchasing pipelines.
Sarvam AI (Multilingual Generative AI): Deploying specialized, voice-capable GenAI agents with native multilingual support to elevate customer interactions across all digital and physical dealership touchpoints in India.
Siftly (Generative AI Brand Analytics): Utilizing generative media technologies to optimize marketing assets, enhance digital brand visibility, and target specific regional consumer demographics.
CodeMate AI (Developer Infrastructure): Utilizing automated AI code-generation tools to accelerate the development, testing, and deployment of internal software applications used across core business units.
“At Maruti Suzuki, we have been actively working with agile startups to co-create innovative, practical solutions designed to address real-world business challenges," stated Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited. "We are delighted to collaborate with five more startups from our latest incubation cohort. One of these companies, MiniMines, will directly support us in safely recycling end-of-life EV batteries, while the other four startups will help us improve consumer engagement and drive deeper operational efficiency across our business."
The Maruti Suzuki Open Innovation Architecture
Over the last seven years, Maruti Suzuki has systematically built a robust, multi-tier corporate venture ecosystem to source, mentor, test, and scale early-to-mature stage technology startups. The automotive leader's open innovation funnel has screened roughly 7,400 startups, engaged deeply with over 250, and officially onboarded 38 as long-term commercial partners.
This comprehensive operational funnel ensures that any promising entrepreneurial idea—regardless of maturity—can find a structured path toward enterprise commercialization:
Maruti Suzuki Accelerator: Launched in January 2019, this program fosters open innovation in the vehicle manufacturing, supply chain, and smart mobility spaces by partnering with growth-stage startups to deploy cutting-edge technologies.
Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program: Initiated in August 2020, this track nurtures early-stage, tech-enabled mobility ventures. NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore supports the program by providing hands-on faculty mentorship, validation tools, and access to an elite academic and corporate ecosystem.
Mobility Challenge: Launched in June 2021, this validation program allows mature, late-stage startups to demonstrate and stress-test their production-ready technologies inside Maruti Suzuki’s live factory or retail environments.
Nurture: Established in 2023 in collaboration with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, this pre-incubation program helps ideation-stage entrepreneurs refine their value propositions before building a minimum viable product.
FundRays: Launched recently in September 2025 in a strategic partnership with the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, this investment readiness program prepares elite alumni startups from Maruti's innovation tracks to successfully raise institutional capital from external venture funds.
