NapTapGo Secures ₹8 Cr Seed Funding

NapTapGo, the technology-enabled capsule hotel startup redefining budget hospitality in India, has officially secured ₹8 crore in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The fresh capital will fuel the company's aggressive pan-India expansion using a capital-efficient co-investment framework alongside local partners, while ensuring that all hotel operations, service quality, and brand standards remain strictly managed in-house.

Having gained national prominence after its featured appearance on Shark Tank India Season 5, NapTapGo is addressing a significant gap in India’s $30 billion hospitality industry. By offering clean, hyper-flexible, and cost-effective pod accommodations, the startup caters directly to short-stay transit, business, and pilgrimage travelers across high-density urban corridors and major transit nodes.

Expanding India’s Pod Hotel Footprint Across Key Transit and Pilgrimage Hubs

NapTapGo currently operates 132 pods across three strategic locations: Noida, Amritsar, and Katra. The platform has already hosted over 10,000 guests, maintaining strong operational metrics with mature properties recording occupancy rates of up to 80% and a notable 35% guest repeat ratio.

The startup's property portfolio highlights its versatile asset model across distinct consumer segments:

  • Katra (Pilgrimage Hub): Holds the distinction of being Asia’s highest-altitude pod hotel, delivering organized, hygienic, and affordable lodging along one of India's busiest pilgrimage routes. The property achieved near breakeven within its first two months of operations.

  • Amritsar (Cultural & Tourism Hub): Features the largest operational pod hotel in the city, setting a new benchmark for budget short-stay accommodations in Punjab.

  • Noida (Corporate & Urban Corridor): Serves business professionals and transit travelers in the National Capital Region (NCR) looking for flexible micro-stays.

  • HPCL Highway Transit Partnership: NapTapGo has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to explore setting up pod hotels at highway fuel stations, expanding its footprint into mobility-led transit stays.

Reimagining Budget Hospitality: The Micro-Stay Advantage

India's broader hospitality market sits within a global industry valued at over $1.3 trillion. Domestic travel demand is increasingly driven by short-duration stays: leisure travel accounts for 46% of total demand, followed by business travel (30%), pilgrimage journeys (19%), and personal travel (5%).

Traditional budget hotels often struggle with inconsistent hygiene, rigid 24-hour check-in schedules, and high daily room rates. NapTapGo eliminates these friction points by combining prop-tech automation with modular pod designs.

Key features of the NapTapGo guest experience include:

  • Pay-Per-Hour Flexibility: Guests are not bound by rigid check-in times; they pay strictly for the duration of their stay, whether taking a brief multi-hour rest or booking an overnight stay.

  • Standardized Quality & Hygiene: Every capsule is equipped with climate control, secure access, high-speed Wi-Fi, and clean shared amenities, ensuring high hygiene standards at budget-friendly prices.

  • Capital-Efficient Co-Investment Model: To scale rapidly without diluting operational standards, NapTapGo partners with local property owners through a co-investment franchise structure while retaining complete internal management over property operations.

Leadership Vision: Bridging the Gap in India's Short-Stay Market

Highlighting the investment thesis, Vinay Bansal, Founder & CEO of Inflection Point Ventures, stated:

"Domestic travel in India is on the rise, and with it, the demand for stays that are clean, affordable and easily accessible is growing. Yet, a large gap still exists between expensive hotels and the inconsistent experience often associated with budget accommodation. NapTapGo is addressing this gap with a format that is particularly relevant for today’s transit and solo travellers, who may need a quality stay for a few hours, overnight or even at the last minute. What gives us confidence is that the model is not limited to one location or one type of traveller; the company has demonstrated its relevance across very different markets."

Sharing the growth roadmap, Nitin Malhotra, Founder & CEO of NapTapGo, added:

"Having IPV invest in NapTapGo again is a strong vote of confidence in both our execution and the value that NapTapGo adds to travelers. The early success of our Katra property, which reached almost break-even within the first two months and welcomed returning guests, reinforces our belief that travelers value consistent, clean and hygienic stays. With this investment, we are excited to accelerate our expansion and make NapTapGo the most trusted household name in affordable hospitality across India."
