Elon Musk has warned Twitter staff to be prepared for challenging times that could lead to the social media platform’s demise if they can’t find new sources of income.
Those workers who made it through the mass layoffs last week are now dealing with harsher working conditions and growing doubts about their ability to maintain Twitter’s operational safety as it continues to lose high-level leaders in charge of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. Late on Wednesday night, Musk sent an email to the entire company ordering everyone to stop working from home and report to work on Thursday. He then addressed issues raised by staff members at his first “all-hands” meeting on Thursday. Prior to that, many were looking to the publicly available tweets of Tesla CEO, a multibillionaire, for hints about Twitter’s future.
