Dubai-based Careem completes 1 billion rides

Dubai-headquartered Careem has successfully completed over one billion rides, with the platform’s one billionth ride taking place in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup.

The company, which began as a ride-hailing service in 2012, has grown to become the region’s leading multi-service platform. Careem captains have driven over nine billion kilometres across more than 80 cities over the years. Pakistan has the most riders among all regions, with 299 million, followed by Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
